The development and promotion of standards of excellence and ethics in management consulting is consistent with and directly supports the IMC USA mission. Standards are definitions of the roles and responsibilities of professional management consultants and are essential to advancing the value of the profession and the effectiveness of its practitioners. The IMC USA Board of Directors convened a task group to develop such standards for the management consulting profession. This draft and the accompanying white paper explaining the nature and application of these standards is presented here for review by the consulting community.
