Lease? signs around our towns where shops used to be and hear the news
about corporate layoffs. But we also see new businesses popping up and hear
about new product and service launches. Amongst this change, we have the baby
boom generation entering or nearing retirement. The confluence of trends
and demographics make for a dynamic business environment. Consultants of
all types are helping businesses through this change. This
session will dive into what business owners need to know strategize, plan for, and
execute transitions of their companies. Consultants, as well as business
owners and executives themselves, stand to walk away with new insights and

SAN FRANCISCO THE SAN FRANCISCO ABC has joined the blogosphere! Visit the Norcal Consultants Network
and scroll down to Blog Posts for two state-of-the-art discussions of
fees (tricks and traps) in your business development efforts.:
- "GIVING
IT AWAY: How to offer 'free samples' without giving away the store"
recounts a discussion from our February meeting where breakfast
groupies addressed the pro bono marketplace - with very different
results!
- "SEIZE
YOUR FEES: a study in net present value" is a companion piece that
reminds us that a check received today is worth more than that same
check down the road. Our basic thesis is that some of the most
sophisticated fee deferral schemes are also the most dangerous.
While
you are there, join up! The NorCal Consultants Network is a terrific
resource for all management consultants (and kindred spirits). It is
free. And membership is not limited members of the Institute of
Management Consultants! The network's founder, Brett LaDove is IMC's NorCal current Chair and an active member of the SF ABC. Both
of the blog posts are representative of the work we do together - every
month! - at the San Francisco Area Breakfast for Consultants (IMC SF
ABC), generally regarded as the premier discussion group in the
management consulting industry. The breakfast group itself meets (almost) every month on the FOURTH (not necessarily the last) Monday of the monthat the intractably tasteful Lucky Penny Restaurant, Masonic at Geary Blvd, in San Francisco, California! We order off the menu and meet in (in)formal session from 7:30 til 9:00 a.m.(after which the restaurant management is perfectly cool to our hanging out for networking and one-2-one discussions). Come join us next time, Monday, April 26th, 2010. Blessings! P.S. Questions? Call Cox Ferrall, CMC FIMC at 1.415.956.5558 of email him at cox@saleswisdomnow.com.
MARIN COUNTY Marin
County Breakfast Meeting presents: Gary White: How to Synchronize Your
Sales and Marketing Tips and Techniques for Companies Large and Small
Friday, April 23rd, 2010 7:30 - 10:00 AM
Location:
The Club at McInnis Park Golf Center 350 Smith Ranch Rd. San Rafael, CA 94903
Time and time again
we hear unfortunate stories of sales and marketing activities that do
not support one another and actually work at cross purposes.
Like senior sales
and marketing executives in large corporations, independent consultants
face constant pressure to make sales and to maximize marketing efforts.
Both are tasked with getting qualified referrals using tried and true
approaches as well as leveraging the constantly evolving world of
social media and personal technology.
The fact is, the
leaner the company the more important it is to coordinate all
activities that contribute to getting an assignment, landing a project
or closing a deal. Whether you're a senior executive or an independent professional, this fast-paced hands on workshop will help you to:
Get your sales and marketing in sync
Say the right things (messaging) to the right people (targeting) at the right time (external triggers and internal drivers)
Identify the bridges and barriers that exist between your company and your target audience
Your chances for
success increase substantially when you have the mind set, discipline
and long-term commitment to a synchronized process for business
development. Attendees will be working both independently and in groups
using the following proprietary tools:
Sales & Marketing Strategy Compass™
Value Proposition Generator™
Client Success Story Template™
After completing this workshop you will already be on your way to internalizing profitable synchronization habits like:
Saying what you write and writing what you say.
Knowing when marketing ends and selling starts.
Memorizing at least three client success stories that clearly communicate the value you deliver.
Special Bonus: Several attendees will be selected at random to receive
an autographed copy of Jeffrey J. Fox's brand new book, How To Be A
Fierce Competitor: What Winning Companies and Great Managers Do In
Tough Times.
MID-PEN The
Mid-Pen ABC meets the Fourth Monday of every month (holidays excluded)
from 7:30 am - 9:30 am. Please contact the facilitator for more
information on their upcoming programs.
