The Management Consulting Common Body of Knowledge Print E-mail

The IMC USA Common Body of Knowledge (BOK) is an internationally recognized set of principles and skills in which all professional management consultants should be competent. The BOK tracks the stages of the client-consultant relationship and describes the competencies most important for a successful consulting engagement. The principles described in the BOK form much of the basis for the certification process for the Certified Management Consultant designation.

The BOK is being revised in 2008 to conform to guidance from the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI). A workshop that comprehensively covers the BOK is currently being designed for IMC USA members seeking CMC certification, CMCs seeking a practice audit or additional CPE credits, and professional management consultants who want to know about the process of management consulting.
