Certification confers on an individual the recognition of achieving a professional standard in technical competency and ethics. The Certified Management Consultant (CMC®) demonstrates that an individual management consultant has met global standards of professional achievement in areas related to consulting competencies, professional behavior, client and project management, and personal conduct.

Certification is one of the principal reasons for the existence of IMC USA and more than 40 other IMCs around the world. IMC members are strongly encouraged to pursue certification as evidence of their voluntary commitment to management consulting as a profession, continuous professional development and skill building, and to a constant sensitivity to upholding the highest ethical standards of conduct.
