Rick is a close collaborator with Geoffrey Moore, and brings a unique perspective as a management consultant as well as executive with several market-leading service firms (Viant Corporation, CSC Index, Cambridge Technology Partners), where he commercialized new service offerings that drove substantial firm growth and client impact.   He has published and spoken on the business impact of the Internet for the last 15 years, and has collaborated with other eminent strategists and technologists for many years.   You can find more on Rick’s background here:  http://tcg-advisors.com/who/chavez.htm

Rick will lead a dynamic discussion that centers on his recent work with Geoffrey Moore and TCG.  Rick will share insights from TCG’s recent work and posit that we are at the cusp of a major wave of innovation, fomented by the ‘consumerization of I/T’, the mobile revolution, and the emergence of cloud computing.  These technology shifts are colliding with trends in business which represent great opportunities to drive growth and market value.  However, the changes underway represent as much peril as they do potential for companies that do not carefully re-align their ‘micro’ plans with evolving ‘macro’ forces.  This re-alignment affects all dimensions of a successful enterprise, no matter how large or small, and requires a new conversation and approach to decision-making for Boards and leadership teams, as well as new organizational muscle.  The mobilization for this next wave of growth and innovation – long the hallmark of Silicon Valley – should also make for extraordinary opportunities for consulting firms that serve hi-tech companies.  Rick will frame some of the opportunities that he and his partners at TCG have identified, and lead a roundtable discussion to discuss the relevance of these opportunities to our members.
