About the Instructor
Kevin Schwenker, FCMC, principal of Schwenker & Associates, has been active in the fields of human resources development, strategic planning and marketing as a management consultant for over twenty years. He has led a wide range of multi-faceted consulting projects locally, nationally and internationally, for clients in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.
Kevin holds an MA (specializing in International Development Administration) from Dalhousie University, Halifax, and a Combined Honours BA in Economics and Political Science from Carleton University, Ottawa. He was awarded his fellowship by the Atlantic Institute of Certified Management Consultants (now CMC-Atlantic) in March 1999. He is a past-President of the Institute of Certified Management Consultants of Atlantic Canada, and has completed two terms on the national Board of the profession.
His consulting project portfolio has included extensive facilitation and training, and Kevin has, since 2002, been a part-time instructor in the CMC-Canada approved MBA in Management Consulting Program at the Sobey School of Business, Saint Mary’s University, Halifax, Canada. He teaches the cornerstone management consulting course, as well as courses in Project Management and Performance Management. In the fall of 2008, he taught The Essentials of Management Consulting as part of the Saint Mary’s Executive Masters in Business Administration program.
As a national trainer for CMC-Canada, he has taught introductory and exam prep courses for the CMC designation since 1996. In 2001 he was part of the team that introduced the leading edge national program, The Essentials of Management Consulting, which he continues to deliver Canada-wide both over the internet and in co-located private workshops. For 6 years beginning in 2002 he annually designed and facilitated the CAMC Comprehensive Exam Preparatory Workshops across Canada. (The comprehensive exam was discontinued in 2008, replaced by a portfolio and oral interview process.)
In addition, Kevin led the team which re-wrote the CMC-Canada Consulting Body of Knowledge entitled, "Management Consulting: An Introduction to the Methodologies, Tools and Techniques of the Profession” with which is due to be published in December 2009.
Kevin has participated in and spoken at a number of International Management Consulting conferences in Europe, in such locations as Vienna, Prague, Bratislava and Milan. In 2007 Kevin was appointed to the Academic Council of SMOT, a private graduate Management School in Chennai, India where he teaches part-time as an Adjunct Professor.
