"Selling to Diversity: The Changing Face of the New Consulting Buyer”

Presented by Dr. Ira S. Wolfe

 

The business world today is increasingly diverse. This is not your grandpa’s world anymore. Change is occurring at a faster pace in more complex ways than ever before. Learning to adapt to this diversity can prove difficult, but by examining current trends, consultants can begin to understand how those demographic shifts will change the way you need to do business.

For example, what does it mean for business when at least 50 percent of family breadwinners are female?  Or that the fastest growing demographic on Facebook is 50+ years old?  Or that the growth rate for minority-owned business outpaced all other businesses by 2.5 times since 2002? 

During this presentation by workforce trends author/consultant Ira S. Wolfe, participants will learn how demographic trends and shifts in gender, race, and particularly age diversity are changing how businesses recruit, hire, and retain employees as well as buy and sell their products and services.  Dr. Wolfe will then lead a "Buzz Session” discussion via questions from the audience on best practices to leverage the opportunities.

Dr. Wolfe is a successful consultant who founded Success Performance Solutions in 1996.  His clients include businesses in the many industries including energy, healthcare, retail, manufacturing, construction and distribution.  A prolific writer and sought-after-expert on hiring and workplace trends, Ira has been described as a "Gen Y masquerading in a Baby Boomer body.”  His latest book is "Geeks, Geezers, and Googlization:  How to Manage the Unprecedented Convergence of the Wired, the Tired, and Technology in the Workplace.”  He is also the author of "Perfect Labor Storm 2.0” and "Understanding Business Values and Motivators.” In addition to being interviewed regularly by journalists, reporters and bloggers, he often appears as the go-to expert on TV and radio on topics including generational crowding, social media, and hiring trends through 2010. He is also on the faculty at Consultants Gold, an online community designed to teach key sales and marketing skills to independent consultants.
