Mark R. Haas CMC, FIMC is President of Research and Organization Management, a strategy development and performance management consulting firm based in Washington, DC. He helps transform private, public and nonprofit organizations to better serve constituencies, leverage emerging technologies and perform against mission. Although his focus is on science, technology and R&D-centric organizations, his expertise is in thorough organizational assessment, developing realistic strategies and helping organizations effectively execute against plan. He typically works with executives and boards in transformation oriented projects. Much of his work comes from referrals by other IMC members, and he regularly refers work to other IMC members.
Mark has advised companies, trade associations, professional societies, federal, state and local agencies, national labs, colleges and schools, oil companies, and professional service firms. He is an experience facilitator, including supporting groups developing WW IV military strategy and recovering from nuclear terrorism to groups of CEOs and Boards developing strategy. Recent engagements include reorganizing a major city school system, assessing leadership and governance in an environmental trade association, advising structure and operations for a biotech startup, and revitalizing a social service nonprofit.
Mark has served in professional association leadership roles, including immediate past national Board Chair and past Ethics Committee Chair of the Institute of Management Consultants USA, the professional association and certifying body for US management consultants and on the DC Alumni Council of the Harvard Kennedy School. He is a Certified Management Consultant, a fellow of IMC USA, an author, expert witness, invited speaker, lead Baldrige quality examiner, advisor to national technical and professional bodies, and has been listed in several professional directories, including Who’s Who Among Emerging Leaders and Who’s Who in America. Mark holds degrees in biology from Colgate University, where he was elected to the Konosioni honor society, and planning from Harvard University, where he was a Teaching Fellow.
