Our first International Breakfast meeting in 2011 is the kick-off event for a new format of our International Breakfast series, welcoming both management consultants, decision makers, and aspiring global entrepreneurs.

Elizabeth Glynn presents:

'Leveraging Global Trade Partnerships: Riding the Wave of International Opportunity'

Today, more than ever, companies are seeking business opportunities in overseas markets. Emerging markets provide vast potential for companies able to adapt their products and business practices to the needs of growing international markets. Are you aware of the potential in emerging growth markets? Is your company positioned to seize fast-moving opportunities that arise in markets outside the U.S.?
What's preventing you from seizing the opportunity? What is your global strategy? Where are the resources? Who can we contact for assistance? How do we expand our operations and our sales?

In this session Elizabeth Glynn, export advisor and global trade educator, will discuss:

  • the importance of global trade in today's economy
  • the opportunities and the challenges
  • the benefits of sound business investment
  • global trade resources
  • opportunity for action

Elizabeth Glynn, an Export Advisor and Global Trade Consultant, works with companies to execute export strategies that accelerate R.O.I. and maximize competitive advantage in the global marketplace. With 20+ years in global logistics/ transportation, export/import operations, and sales, Elizabeth shares broad-based, hands-on operations experience and insight in building successful export business operations. She created and executed the export operations startup for a medical device manufacturer; streamlined the global transportation infrastructure for a photographic products company; and worked as an export advisor for a space & communications company. On the service side she was an account executive for a national freight forwarder/customs broker, and worked export operations for a national airfreight company.

Since 1998 Elizabeth has taught various International Trade & Commerce courses at UCLA Extension and global business management (MBA) for the University of La Verne. She delivered customized programs for multiple China delegations (UCLA Extension), UC Riverside's International Professional programs as well as presented on topics including global education strategies, the importance of international trade education (for high school students), and building strategic partnerships. She recently completed a contract as Business Development Director at UCLA Extension, one of the nation's largest providers of continuing education. Elizabeth served as 2010 Chair, Global Initiatives Council (LA Chamber) and serves as a board member to the Foreign Trade Association, Women in International Trade-LA, NASBITE (2011), and, formerly, International Trade Compliance Organization (El Camino CITD, 2009). Elizabeth is one of 800+ recipients of the CGBP (Certified Global Business Professional, www.nasbitecgbp.org) designation. Ms. Glynn holds a M.I.M. (Master of International Management) degree from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
