Business Valuation for Consultants
With John Misuraca, CPA, Business Valuation Expert
and Managing Partner, Avalon Advisors
Business valuation is the process of estimating the economic value of an owner's interest in a business. For most owners, the primary objectives should not be just to maximize sales and profits, but to grow the market value of the business. This is where good consulting advice can help.
Business valuation is not only important when a business plans to sell or merge, but also in situations related to partnerships, buy-sell agreements, gift taxation, estates, divorce, litigation, and other legal matters. Just because a business is profitable does not mean that it is saleable.
To learn the basic principles of business valuation for consultants, join us on Thursday, September 8 at our IMC Orange County breakfast meeting. These principles will not only make you a better advisor to your clients, but will also allow you to build value for your own consulting practice. Our presenter will be John Misuraca, CPA, Business Valuation Expert and Managing Partner, Avalon Advisors. John's presentation topics will include:
- The key determinants of business value.
- Different approaches to business valuation, and when to use each.
- The behaviors that many owners (and consultants) exhibit that prevent them from getting the maximum value for their years of effort.
- Strategies for creating a saleable business and maximizing its market value.
- The effect of the economy.
- And a lot more...
Expect John's presentation to be applicable to all of your clients who own businesses, and also to your own consulting practice. There will be opportunity for questions and discussion about specific situations.
