Knowing what you do and what you do well is
not enough to build your Thought Leadership Platform. 

It requires an active presence in SocBiz platforms,
most of which do not require active funding but
rather an integrated and consistent approach. 

This session will discuss the differences between Social Media advertising and public relations, how to develop your thought leadership platform and integrate this across multiple channels, and how to determine your effectiveness with social media platforms to manage and increase your messaging performance.

Mr. Newman brings 25 years of experience in strategy and operations planning across multiple industry sectors.  He is a Certified Management Consultant since 1995 and has led several consulting practices at Booz & Company, DMR Consulting, KPMG BearingPoint, and Grant Thornton. 

Mr. Newman is a trained SA-8000 social accountability consultant since 1999 and Social Fingerprint coach and trainer since 2011.  He is a graduate of the Henry Samueli School of Engineering at UCLA, and received his master’s degree (MBA) at the Conrad L. Hilton School of Business at Loyola Marymount University.  He is a member of the adjunct faculty at Northwood University, a participant in the University of Oregon Sustainability Leadership Program, and a member of the McKinsey QuarterlyExecutive Panel.  Mr. Newman is based in Detroit.  You may follow him on Twitter (william_newman).
