Bob Frost, PhD
Founder and Principal, Measurement International

Dr. Bob Frost is an independent consultant providing measurement and assessment services for gauging and improving the performance of programs, processes, agencies and organizations. His clear, straightforward approaches to complex problems distinguish him. Bob is the author of a popular series of short, practical books and papers on performance topics—Conducting Assessments, Crafting Strategy, Measuring Performance, and Designing Metrics are among the titles. For more than 30 years, his presentations, workshops, consulting services and independent assessments have served organizations in government, business and nonprofit sectors.

How are we doing, really?

Whys and hows of robust assessments, measures and scorecards in client organizations

Leaders claim to be committed to high performance, transparency, accountability, quality, customer service, efficiency, lean operations, process improvement, and other high-minded objectives. So do their businesses, nonprofits, and government organizations. Yet leaders and organizations alike are hamstrung with inadequate, outdated tools for knowing how they are doing— making success in meeting these objectives more a matter of chance and intuition than science. As consultants we must be prepared to assist clients with the concepts, tools, models and processes that help them gauge their progress toward a wide range of commitments.

Some questions we'll consider—

  • "Our earnings tell us how we are doing. What's wrong with that?”
  • What should leaders be measuring or assessing?
  • What is the range of assessment/measurement methods we have available?
  • What exactly does "performance” mean anyway?
  • What are the best models for measuring performance?
  • How do assessments, measures and scorecards work in concert?
  • How can clients self-assess their metrics?
  • How can robust assessments, measures and scorecards be integrated with the management process?

In this presentation and discussion, you'll get answers to these questions and yours. You'll have opportunity to share your own views on these issues. You can expect to leave with new insights and understandings to benefit your individual and organizational clients and apply as you manage projects.

An online forum will be opened before the meeting for you to submit questions you'd like the presenter to answer and after the presentation for you to share your learnings and results with others!  Click here
