1 + 1 = 3:

How to Collaborate Successfully with other Consultants

Join IMC Philly on May 10, 2013 for another Breakfast Buzz Session as Tom Casey, CMC leads us in a lively discussion on the topic: "1 + 1 = 3: How to Collaborate Successfully with other Consultants”.

Independent consultants and small consulting firms have long used collaboration as an effective alternative to hiring in order to staff client projects. Utilizing the skills and talents of an outside resource can add depth and breadth to your firm’s service offerings, as well as providing added value for your client. Using additional resources and skill sets can also dramatically improve your revenues.

But not all such "marriages” are successful. Choosing the wrong partner can be damaging to both your project and your firm’s professional reputation. Allying with a firm whose goals are not in line with yours can result in a very rocky relationship, and a waste of your valuable time.

With your active participation in our buzz session, you will learn directly from experienced colleagues and peers:

· Why partnerships and alliances can be mutually productive

  • When they are appropriate for you and your client
  • Who you should consider for partners and alliances
  • Which skills and talents would be most useful
  • Strategic vs. tactical partnerships
  • The form and structure of collaboration agreements
  • Best practices that insure success
  • How to provide value for your partner and his/her client
