How to Leverage Public Speaking Engagements to Build New Business

It’s not enough to throw together a PowerPoint, give a speech, and see what happens.

Jeremy Eskenazi leads the specialized Human Resources consulting firm, Riviera Advisors. Riviera Advisors works with organizations around the world to improve and optimize their own recruiting and staffing capabilities. For the past twelve years, outside of referrals from current and past clients and colleagues, speaking to targeted groups is the number one avenue for building new business relationships at Riviera Advisors. Jeremy and his team have developed a very specific strategy leveraging paid and unpaid speaking engagements. Come join a facilitated discussion and participate in the conversation while Jeremy shares some of his speaking strategies including:

  • Identifying speaking opportunities that will ensure the right audiences.
  • Creating sought-after content that can be reused and refreshed.
  • Giving away speakers notes, tools, and templates and other free stuff to audiences, in return for the opportunity to gather contacts and build communities.
  • Engaging audiences at conferences and expos using speaking add-ons such as invitation-only dinners, book signings, and exhibits.
  • Facilitating panels and interviews to get instant credibility.
  • Producing public events to own the conversation and the relationships.

Paid and unpaid speaking engagements can be very lucrative for consultants, but there must be a strategy on how to actively mine the contacts and the relationships from the audiences and eventually turn those contacts into business. Come join this discussion to learn how.

About Jeremy Eskenazi

Jeremy Eskenazi, SPHR is Managing Principal of Riviera Advisors, Inc., a global Human Resources management consulting firm that helps organizations improve and enhance their internal talent acquisition and staffing capabilities. For more than a decade, Jeremy and his team have partnered with organizational staffing and HR leaders to create strategies and tactics to make their recruiting, staffing, and talent acquisition processes, systems, and organizations more effective to achieve business results.

Prior to founding Riviera Advisors in 2001, Jeremy spent almost 20 years leading talent acquisition and staffing teams at Universal Studios, Amazon.com, and Idealab. Jeremy is a proud professional member of the National Speakers Association (NSA) and serves as the Vice President, National Membership for the International Association of Corporate and Professional Recruitment (IACPR). Jeremy served two terms on the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Staffing Management special expertise panel and on the Workforce Planning Standards Workgroup.

A highly-sought-out speaker on the value of the corporate staffing function, Jeremy speaks to many audiences at conference, seminars, and organizational meetings. Jeremy is the author of the book, "RecruitCONSULT! Leadership – The Corporate Talent Acquisition Leader’s Field Book”, published by STARoundtable Press in 2011. Jeremy is based in Long Beach, California.
