Applied Improv: Become the
Consultant YOU’d Like to Hire
It’s often said that getting and keeping clients is about building relationships. "Applied Improv” centers on how to have the really fundamental "conversation” with a client, prospect or ally - and yourself - in a way that builds another person’s confidence and trust in you.
If you’ve ever seen "Whose Line Is It? on television, or an Improv Theater group, you have witnessed the amazing gift these performers have of "thinking on their feet”. It turns out that the skills that make for successful improvisation are the same ones that consultants can use to build successful business relationships.
In this entertaining, informative, and immediately applicable program, you’ll learn to listen and respond to another person while hearing what they really want and need. You’ll watch and practice these skills, and leave with techniques for being more confident, spontaneous and balanced. This mini-workshop will:
• Describe how Improv Theater techniques help drive success in both consulting and personal relationships
• Define ten forms of negative self-talk that hinder personal, consulting and sales success
• Apply at least two improv techniques to realistic client, prospect, or partner situations.
Izzy’s Gesell’s book "Playing Along: Group Learning Activities Borrowed From Improvisation Theater”, signed personally for you, and his Improv "Card Deck” will be available for purchase at the meeting.
