Tell a Friend About This EventTell a Friend

According to a 2012 study by CareerBuilder, 35% of the workforce encounters bullies at work. Workplace bullying is systematic psychological abuse that degrades and humiliates; and it causes anxiety, burnout, job dissatisfaction, and loss of company loyalty in targets and bystanders. If allowed to flourish, it invites severe damaging consequences for an organization, such as increased turnover and absenteeism, communication breakdown, reduced quality in work, and poor customer service.

So what do you do if you come across a bully in your client’s workplace? How do you put an end to behavior that you see hindering your projects? What if the decision maker is the bully?

Join Catherine Mattice, MA, SPHR, as she takes you through the process of dealing with this behavior. She will offer tips for talking with leaders, coaching perpetrators, and standing up to the bully in a professional yet assertive way.

You will learn how to:

  • Define and describe workplace bullying as a social and systemic issue

  • Approach decision makers about the behavior and offer a business case for stopping it

  • Work with bullies who are on your project teams as well as leaders who might be bullies

  • Stand up for yourself if you’re being bullied

Implement easy-to-do activities that foster a positive work environment for your project team (and the entire organization)
