This interactive presentation will discuss current OCM and management consulting trends as witnessed and experienced by our speaker for this month’s meeting.
Focus of discussion will be concerning, not only trends and emerging constructs, but also the scholar-practitioner model which helps to inform how we can best navigate and predict future trends and topics to help achieve consulting success.
From her perspective, Barb will discuss observations relative to OCM field, general business trends within organizations, management consulting trends, requisite consulting skills and attributes, as well as relevant theories and theorists that help keep us apprised of organizational theories.
- What is OCM? OCM discussion regarding organizational change programs
- OCM and OD resources/references from which to gain theoretical perspectives on change theories, human development, organizational change, and others
- Interactive participation from audience members to share additional insights, observations, and other relevant trends driving organizational change

Barbara A. Mather, Ph.D. is an experienced management consultant in the area of organizational change, and has been a practitioner in her consulting firm since 2002. She works primarily with Fortune 500 companies, helping them to develop organizational design/change management, communication, and compensation strategies and plans. Barbara’s educational background includes a Ph.D. and M.A. in Human and Organizational Systems from Fielding Graduate University, an M.B.A. from Drexel University in Philadelphia. She is a Certified Management Consultant® from the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC). In additional to her consulting practice, Dr. Mather serves as faculty for the University of Phoenix in the School of Advanced Studies, instructing doctoral research programs.

The SoCal Chapter of IMC serves as a forum for professional management consultants to meet and interact with other consultants from various disciplines (for example, Operations, Human Resources, Marketing, Technology and Organizational Change).
