Consultants in today's world must be prepared to advise on or support international business operations regardless of the size of the client organization. According to the SBA, 97% of all US exporters are classified as small businesses. And with the global access available today, more and more businesses are “going global” every day.
While executives and business owners realize that there are substantial risks associated with international operations, they often do not know exactly what those risks are or how to deal with them. Based on his experience as a project manager and business consultant to aerospace companies and small businesses, Jay has identified 10 crucial areas that consultants must be aware of – areas that effect clients doing international business, This presentation will address each of the issues, and help consultants and business owners understand the ways international business is changing business for all of us.
Owen J. (Jay) Murphy is President of TransGlobal Consulting and has more than 20 years experience as a project manager international business consultant. He is a regular guest lecturer at Pepperdine University in the areas of International Business and Project Management, and the author of two books, International Project Management (Thomson/Texare 2005) and The Business of Small Business (Tower Publishing 2008).
