Building Clients for Life - a panel discussion on creating long term client relationships. Susan Ashley will lead the discussion and panel members will include a mix of consulting firm and individual practitioner representatives, as well as a mix of consulting functional specialties.
Panelists will tell stories of successful long-term client relationships and the underlying foundations of those relationships, after which there will be a question and answer discussion session.
Our Panel Lead – Susan Ashley
Susan Ashley is the owner of SIA Consulting, an independent consulting practice specializing in executive coaching, leadership development, team effectiveness, career coaching, and succession planning. Susan has coached executives and leadership teams in a variety of industries including telecommunications, energy, health care, education, insurance, manufacturing and non-profit.
As a coach, Susan brings executive strategic perspective and experience from her last corporate position as Vice President - Human Resources for Houston Cellular, a major local telecommunications company. In this position, she was a full member of the executive leadership team participating in all strategic, tactical and budgeting decisions regarding the management of the company. With her executive experience, she is able to show other executives how their personal performance ties to organization performance. Before Houston Cellular Telephone Company she had seventeen years of human resources and management experience with Exxon (now ExxonMobil).
Susan has a B.S. degree in Psychology from Saint Lawrence University and a Masters Degree in Industrial & Labor Relations from Cornell University. She is a Certified Management Consultant through the Institute of Management Consultants, a Senior Birkman Consultant, and certified Myers Briggs practitioner. She is a graduate of Corporate Coach University and a member of the International Coach Federation. She is a board member of the Institute of Management Consultants (Houston Chapter) and also recently served on the board of ASTD Houston. She is certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise and was elected the 2005 President of The Professional Group, an association of women business professionals and entrepreneurs.
Panelist – Donald R. Clerc
Donald R. Clerc is the President of Clerc Computer Consulting Corporation which designs effective networking, telecommunications and Internet solutions for customers on a variety of technical platforms. Don has a Master’s degree in Psychology and worked for HISD as an Associate School Psychologist which has given him a great understanding of his customer’s issues and concerns with their computer systems. CCCC’s mission is to develop long-term relationships with customers to take care of their computing needs through knowledgeable and courteous staff.
Panelist – Winford E. "Dutch" Holland, PhD
Winford E. "Dutch” Holland, PhD. – Dutch has been a student of management and organization development since 1967. Thanks to his clients over the years, he has seen the best…and worst… of management practices. His career long focus has been helping managers "make important business changes for the better… on target, on time and on budget.” Dutch has been in the consulting business through the best and worst of times and has definite opinions about the goal of "clients for a lifetime.”
Panelist – Thom Holt, SDHR
Thomas "Thom” Holt, SPHR – Thom is the owner of Fair Winds Human Resources Consulting which specializes in bringing out the best in an organization. His areas of consulting include business coaching, risk management assessments and program implementation, due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, training for emergency management professionals, EEOC training and DiSC assessment and training. Thom knows that assessing a business’s people strengths and facilitating leadership development to take full advantage of those strengths provide the leverage to make positive change in almost any organization.

Fee covers both sessions and lunch. Pre-registration is requested The deadline is the Tuesday of the week of the event.
Walk-ins are welcome without reservations but will pay a $10 surcharge per person.
No credits will be issued for cancellations after Monday on the week of the event.
