Using social media to grow your consulting practice just isn’t that harsh and it doesn’t need to be that hard. Oh, sure, there’s all the figuring new stuff out every new day, but really, when it comes down to it, there are only a handful of things that actually matter. 

Get these techniques right – keep these techniques as the basis for every social media decision – and things are going to work out. 

On the other hand, ignore these proven and powerful techniques and social media will always feel like a hard, confusing struggle. 

Presentation Outline 

#1. Develop Your Point of View and Methodology. A great deal of marketing success for any consulting practice resides in your ability to lead. . One of best ways to demonstrate leadership is to craft and hold a specific point of view – one that you can build a simple, yet highly useful methodology around. You must be willing to turn your way into THE way! 

#2. Provide Insight Over Information. Prospects are drowning in information. The winner is the one that makes sense of it for them. Today’s consulting practice must act as a filter and provide insight about the information.

#3. Use Social Media As A Gateway. I really believe that social media is a gateway in today’s world. Most business is still done across a desk, but starting relationships on social media and then building them much deeper over lunch is the killer combination.

I conclude with this: A process is the solution - A well run consulting practice is a collection of processes. Social media is a process and one of the best ways to keep social media participation from becoming your full time job is to create processes for how you participate.
