The Search for Talent: Uncovering the Hidden Value of Internships

In this interactive workshop presentation, participants will: 
  • Learn basic and essential background, factual and procedural information about internships (what are they, really? how to start, structure, and execute):
  • What is an internship? Why should anyone do, create or participate in one?
  • Facts and myths about form, structure and process, and why it matters to small business owners
  • Reasons for doing….and reasons for not doing (key to understand!)
Understand how to create an internship that attracts students (the right ones for your business/position) and delivers value, while meeting any university expectations or rules (there are a few; some may apply some may not):
  • Easy ways to brainstorm and develop a description
  • How to find the right kind of student (it’s not by major)
  • Navigating the rules: easy, hard, or ?? We’ll help!
