Raymond W. Suarez is an independent U.S-based consultant specializing in strategy, execution, and operations management. An entrepreneur and business owner, Ray has worked previously as a venture capitalist, US Foreign Service diplomat, strategic planner, and financial analyst. Since 1992, Ray has served as President of Quality Management International, LLC, a full-service management consulting and professional services firm. QMI has assisted over eighty ventures, partnerships, corporations, public and nonprofit organizations in understanding, planning and achieving their growth and change driven objectives.

He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and International Relations from Harvard College, and a Masters in Business Administration with concentrations in marketing, industry and competitive analysis, and entrepreneurial management from the Harvard Business School.
Social/Volunteer Organizations
Ray has earned the prestigious designation of Certified Management Consultant (CMC) granted by the Institute of Management Consultants in recognition of achieving the consulting profession’s highest standards of competence, professionalism and ethical conduct. He is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and has achieved certifications by SHRM as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR). He is a member of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC), and the Project Management Institute (PMI). He currently serves on the Board of Directors of IMCUSA and as Chairman and President of the IMC National Capital Region. He has previously served on the Board of the National Association of Investment Companies' Management Consulting Group, and has served as director, advisor and principal to numerous client and affiliated enterprises.

From 1986 to 1992, Ray served as Vice President of Broadcast Capital Fund, Inc., with responsibilities for investment development, portfolio management, operations and general management of a media and communications private equity investment firm. From 1984 to 1986, he served as Senior Planner for New and International Business Development at CBS, Inc, developing new products, business strategies and financial models, and analyzing markets and competition for the diversified media company. From 1980 to 1982, he served as Economics and Commercial Officer for the U.S. Department of State where he developed and promoted U.S. trade and investment in Nigeria, and forecasted Nigerian economic performance, earning the U.S. Foreign Service Meritorious Honor Award. From 1978 to 1980, he worked as a Financial Analyst with the First National Bank of Boston, evaluating products, markets and financial performance of existing and prospective clients, projecting demand for loans and financial services, and formulating and presenting recommendations to management.

Ray is a graduate of the HBS Executive Education Program on Entrepreneurship, the National Association of Small Business Investment Companies' Venture Capital Institute, and the Dale Carnegie Sales Institute. He holds certificates in Strategic Leadership of Diversity and Inclusion (SHRM), and Business Coaching for Workplace Learning and Performance (ASTD).
