I have had the incredible good fortune to meet and work with some of the best and most talented people I could ever hope for. Coming from a modest background, I was very blessed with parents that encouraged me to be the best I could be in whatever I did, treat people well and to never give up. When I reflect some years later, I can say without hesitation I am very grateful for that foundation. Throughout my career, I have started and sold companies, worked with others to overcome challenges and develop organizations that were attractive at high multiples to buyers and brought technology to cattle mating. I ask “why” and sometimes more importantly “why not”. I love the challenge that comes with exceeding expectations of going from good to great and for never settling for less. My career progression is not typical, there have been three long-term, critical areas of focus that built upon the previous – Entrepreneurship, Technical Sales and finally, Corporate Executive Leadership. That sequence, and the foundational skills learned at each stage, continue to serve me well to this day. I think it is for these reasons, and on more than one occasion across multiple companies and industries, I have been brought in to solve a problem or deliver a solution. In some cases, teams were already in place. In other cases, I built the team. I am proud to say that in each case, the team delivered. We did it with the same sense of purpose my parents instilled years ago…be the best you can be, treat people well and to never give up.
