Dr. Drumm McNaughton is a CEO’s secret weapon to making change stick. One of a select group of executives with leadership experience in academia, operations, and business, his holistic, 21st century approach to strategy and change defies the 80% failure rate by tapping into what is really going on in organizations, thus enabling CEOs to keep the “lightswitch of trust” on.
Dr. McNaughton approaches change systemically, leveraging front line experience as COO of two high tech startups and eCommerce Manager at Dell Computer, piloting Navy reconnaissance aircraft when survival required understanding the big picture when seeing only disparate pieces, and living overseas 19 years and traveling to 50+ countries. He understands organizations and people, and blends a futuristic view of the journey with the practical wisdom and the trust building that cements commitment and ensures success.
In short, he sees the big and detailed picture clearly from 35,000 feet when most can’t get off the ground to 10 feet, and through this has added $500 million to organizations’ bottom line. He has worked with King Saud University; Chapman University; European Bank for Reconstruction and Development; Los Angeles Unified School District; U.S. Air Force Reserve; U.S. Navy; and the Fortune 500, including Dell Computer and DuPont.
He has been recognized for excellence throughout his career, including been named Chair Emeritus and Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants USA for his work as Chair / CEO and Board Secretary for the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI), as well as a Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors.
Dr. McNaughton holds a PhD and an MA in Human & Organizational Systems from the Fielding Graduate Institute, and a BS in Physics from the U.S. Naval Academy. He is Department Chair for graduate leadership studies at Trident University, and taught for Central Michigan and Chapman University.
He and his wife live in Fallbrook, California, and in their spare time enjoy golf, traveling, reading, working out, and caring for their 65 avocado trees.
