Ms. Borhani is a senior management and organizational change consultant. She has significant experience in managing large-scale, multi-location projects. Ms. Borhani possesses a strong background in project management, business process reengineering, team development and client facilitated approaches to strategic planning, process improvement, redesign and functional requirements definition. Her areas of expertise include project design and management, risk assessment and issue resolution, organizational assessment and change management, and implementation planning. Ms. Borhani began her consulting career with Brooks International, a mid-size consulting firm, based in Florida. She served as a business analyst, senior consultant, and project manager in her early years with Brooks. In the late 1980’s she was promoted to Engagement Director. In this role she was responsible for providing project management and oversight to multiple engagements throughout Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States. In 1992 Ms. Borhani joined Howard Consulting Group where she continued consulting to both international and U.S. based firms.
Since 1984 Ms. Borhani has been successfully providing results-based implementation consulting. In 1990, she became a partner in a management consulting firm focused on organizational transformation. She has successfully led consulting assignments in both the public and private sectors to an on-time and on-budget conclusion with results that exceeded client expectations. Examples include:
• Project Manager for three different State Departments of Vital Records initiatives. Managed all activities associated with each project including: ensuring that all deliverables were completed to the specifications agreed upon with the client; drafting deliverables per the contract; providing bi-weekly status reports to the Executive Sponsor and project team; coordinating project activities; and providing project management training and skill transfer to the State team members.
• In her role as Project Manager for the State of Nevada Central Cancer Registry, Ms. Borhani identified project issues and facilitated their resolution; monitored project activities and work progress; conducted internal quality assurance of all deliverables, conducted deliverable walk through and ensured the overall success of the project. She provided regular advice and technical input to the Nevada Central Cancer Registry Program Office and the Chief of the Bureau. • Engagement Director for real estate services division of LandAmerica. Oversaw the management and training of nine client personnel and two consultants dedicated to the project. Major activities included review of current processes at locations, identification of process improvement opportunities, design of the integrated processes, capacity planning, development of implementation plans for the relocation and process implementation and actual implementation activities. Subsequent phases dealt with the reengineering of the business processes and organizational structure. Conducted best practices and benchmarking activities, conducted gap analysis between “as is” and “to be” processes, developed business value justification, future capacity and staff utilization requirements, and implementation plan. Provided advice and guidance to LandAmerica executive management, monitored schedule and budget, mediated issues between business users and technology Departments. • Project Manager, Derwent Publications, LTD (London, England). Reengineered the production process, facilitated employee process reengineering teams with impressive results. Achieved 50% reduction in turn-around time. Implemented continuous improvement program which eliminated 150 days backlog in a single Department. Developed employee incentive plans. Designed and delivered training sessions for managers, supervisors and lead personnel. Improved profitability by $2 million. Ms. Borhani attended the University of California at Davis from 1975 – 1979 where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations. Subsequently, she attended the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird) where she was awarded a Masters in International Management in 1982. As part of her graduate work Ms. Borhani attended ESADE in Barcelona, Spain where she was awarded a Masters in Business Management in 1982. Ms. Borhani is certified as a Management Consultant (CMC) by the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC USA).
