Landon K. Thorne is Managing Director of Projects International, and Midas Advisory Group, Inc., specializing in international trade and business development, strategic enterprise development, private equity and real estate investment. Mr. Thorne has been active as a principal in merchant banking, corporate finance, international finance and trade, and the sponsorship of portfolio real estate investments for more than 30 years.

Mr. Thorne is a graduate of Yale University and a retired Colonel, United States Marine Corps Reserve. His 35-year military reserve career encompassed service in Vietnam, Africa and the Middle East, including mobilization during Operation Desert Storm and the post 9/11 ‘Global War on Terror’. He also had diplomatic posting as Assistant Defense Attaché to Rome, Italy, and is fluent in several foreign languages. Mr. Thorne retired from the military in 2002.*

Mr. Thorne has held seats on the Boards of numerous businesses, governmental and charitable institutions to include Barnie’s Coffee & Tea Company (sold to Starbucks), the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, Secretary of the Navy Marine Corps Reserve Policy Board. Other past and present community service affiliations include Trustee, Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs; Trustee, Beaufort (SC) Memorial Hospital Foundation; Chair, Lowcountry (SC) Work Force Investment Board; Trustee (and former Vice Chair), Jekyll Island Foundation; Board Member, American Livestock Breeds Conservancy; Vice Chair, Coastal Discovery Museum (Hilton Head Island, SC); and President, The Thorne Foundation. He is a sought after speaker and op-ed writer on topics related to international policy and business. He is a published author, poet and photographer. He resides with his wife, Leslie, on a sporting plantation in the South Carolina Lowcountry.
