Virachai Vannukul has had more than three decades of top management careers in a number of international activities, such as international commercial airlines, mining industry, trading, consumer products marketing, banking and financial institutions. His previous professional assignments covered a wide spectrum of areas, i.e. Strategic Management, Project Management, System Management, Crisis Management, and Financial Management.
His professional qualifications include CMC (Certified Management Consultant), CCP (Certified Computing Professional) from the U.S.A., and FCMI (Fellow of Charted Management Institute), FIIM (Fellow of The Institute of Industrial Managers), and F Inst. AM (Fellow of The Institute Of Administrative Management) from England.
ADDITIONAL PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES Since 1977, he has been practicing management consulting in the U.S.A., Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. In 1984, he joined the Bangkok Metropolitan Bank, as the Advisor to the Chairman, and from 1988 to 1990, he was appointed the position of Senior Executive Vice President of the Bank. During 1987 to 1990, he was also the Chairman of the Board of CB Richard Ellis (Thailand) Co., Ltd., the first real estate marketing and consulting firm in the country. From 1994 to 1997, he was Advisor to the Chairman and CEO of the Bangkok Bank plc.
From 1997 to present, he is Managing Partner of VG Consultant Company Limited, and Chairman Emeritus of Institute of Management Consultants of Thailand. .
PUBLICATIONS AND AWARDS His academic works include the publication of: The Strategic Plan Development for Skybridge, a research project of a major Low Cost Air Carrier in Europe. Soo Yippoon (สู้ญี่ปุ่น) - National Strategy for Trade and Economic Relationship with Japan. Thailand’s Economic Crisis of 1997: Its Continuation and Possible Cure: A Case Study, and contributed several hundreds of articles, related to aviation industry, strategic planning, systems and procedures, and organizational developments. 1990 Annual Honorable Executives Award - Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand. 1991 Outstanding Alumnus Award – Pepperdine University.
ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES He was Dean of School of Management of a local university, Director of MBA program, and is an invited lecturer of National Defense College Of Thailand, Police Higher Educational Institute, Asian Business Forum, and several universities, local, and abroad.
LANGUAGES He speaks and writes Thai, English, and can communicate in Japanese and several Chinese dialects.
