Education/Experience
I graduated from Colgate University in 1970 with a BA in French and International Affairs (Political Science, History, International Law) - Phi Beta Kappa. I graduated from Johns Hopkins' School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in 1972 with an MA in International Affairs spending one year in Bologna, Italy and one year in Washington, DC. I immediately joined the Chubb Insurance Group in NYC and after two years in training was assigned to open the new Commercial Casualty and Specialty Personal Lines for Europe in Brussels. We lived there for four years. I then spent two years in the Home Office in Administration and was assigned to Montreal to fix the Personal Lines division then take over the eastern Canadian region. In 1994 I became President and CEO of St. Paul Canada in Toronto with branches across Canada.
Social/Volunteer Organizations
I taught courses and was a Board member and Commander of the local Power and Sail Squadron, finishing with an Advanced Pilot designation. I was on the Board and Chair of the University of McGill's McGill Associates - fund raising and community involvement in this outstanding educational institution. I was a member of NorCal Chapter's first San Francisco Oak Tree Project - providing risk management and insurance expertise to Girls 2000 in Hunters Point. I served on the NorCal Chapter Board for six years - Membership Chair, Treasurer, Vice-President and Secretary.

More Information

We moved to northern California in 2001 to be near family - children and grandchildren and I brought my newly formed consulting practice along from Buffalo, NY, for the ride! I was strongly urged to join IMC and did shortly after arriving. I enjoy road biking and am learning to not fear hills in the east bay near San Francisco, CA. I am a student (forever) of fly fishing since my 50th birthday and enjoy local club activities and outings, tying flies and building rods. There is some truly magnificent country to explore with single barbless hooks and a catch and release philosophy.
