In 2007, IMC AZ decided to sponsor
the development of Mastermind Groups for its members.
What
Is a Mastermind Group?
Mastermind groups are a growing
business phenomenon used for problem-solving, inspiration and motivation. They
are built on the foundation of trust, confidentiality and harmony. Mastermind
groups share the basic philosophy that more can be accomplished in less time by
working together. Comprised of individuals who meet in an open, supportive
environment on a regular basis, the Mastermind Group's sole purpose is to share
thoughts, ideas, opinions and information. Due to the group nature, a
commitment of time and energy is required. Group members should be motivated
people who are willing to ask for, as well as offer, help and support.
How
Does It Work?
Mastermind Groups are generally
composed of 3–7 individuals who come together to form a relatively stable group
of members. In forming the groups, we discovered two preferred methods for
groups to meet and communicate: face-to–face, and via telephone conference.
Some people prefer the a ‘live’ opportunity for discussion; others find the
telephone a comfortable communication medium, which also makes participation
accessible from various geographic areas.
Consequently, there are two groups
operating in the Phoenix area:
Face-to-face group: -meets the 2nd Thursday of the
month from 9-11 a.m.. The location may vary based on the needs of group
members.
Teleconference group: meets the 2nd Monday of the month
The agenda belongs to the group and
each person’s participation is key. Although the meeting agendas tend to vary,
group members may:
Bring something to share or give to the group
Present a goal for which they are seeking support
Present a business challenge to the group and seek
advice or recommendations of action
Offer an honest report of how they are progressing on
meeting their goals
What
Will You Get Out Of The Group?
Here are some of the benefits that
most group members experience:
Grow your experience, skill and confidence
Real progress in your business life
An instant and valuable support network
Support in delivering on commitments to yourself
Lighting a fire under your career
Building supportive and competent relationships
Tapping the true source of “group mind power”

abilitie

Here is a quote from one of our
Mastermind Group members:
“This
note is to let you know what a great benefit our Mastermind Group has been to
me. It has acted as a catalyst in my growth as a consultant, my colleagues have
played the role of devil’s advocate and, more importantly, they have been my
support structure and let me be heard as I embrace this journey!
"As
Napoleon Hill, who introduced the concept of Masterminding in the early 1900s,
said, 'No two minds ever come together without thereby creating a third,
invisible intangible force, which may be likened to a third mind.'
"Thank you for all your efforts in creating,
developing and implementing the Mastermind concept into IMCAZ. I hope it
continues to grow with participation.” — Jim R
