The IMC USA is an organization of individual management consultants. Individuals who are principally engaged in the occupation of consulting may become Professional Members. Individuals whose occupation is not consulting (e.g., service providers, vendors, academics, journalists, professional managers) may join as Affiliate Members. Individuals who are enrolled full-time in a college or university may join as Student Members.

IMC USA memberships are structured on a calendar year basis, with annual renewals occurring on December 31. Professional, Affiliate, and Student Members who join before June 30th purchase membership through the end of the current calendar year.  Members who join after June 30th purchase extended memberships that are valid through the end of the following calendar year. There is a one-time application fee of $50 for new memberships (waived for Student Members).
