Loraine Huchler’s Tenure Ends as CPC
Chair
Tremendous
thanks are due to Loraine Huchler, CMC, PE, for her four years of service as the Chair
of the Chapter Presidents Council (CPC).
During her
tenure, the CPC Chair became an advisory position and then ultimately a voting
position on the IMC National Board.
Huchler says, "This was the first time that chapters had a
representative on the National Board, which is responsible for creating policy
for the Institute and creating value for the membership. Before CPC, there was a lot of distance
between chapters and the National organization, which was unfortunate. About
half of the IMC members belong to chapters, which deliver most of the value to
the members.”
"I think the CPC
has really revitalized IMC,” Huchler continues. "It provided an opportunity to
re-think the value of chapters and recognize that chapters were essential to
the value delivery of the IMC membership.”
Participating in
CPC is meaningful for the chapter presidents, too. "The purpose of the monthly calls is to
transfer knowledge among presidents, provide peer to peer support, and serve as
a sounding board to IMC to share member feedback,” Huchler says.
So what’s next
for Loraine? "I want to go back and make a contribution to my chapter – I want
to be an engaged member,” Huchler says with a laugh. "I want to experience the pleasures and
rewards of being in the community with my chapter members. I can’t say enough about how being in
community with that chapter helped me grow and understand what being a
professional in the world of consulting has meant to me.”
