With
over 20 years ad industry experience, Connie
Burtcheard CMC knows a thing or two about
running an ad agency.
She also knows that getting her Certification as a
Management Consultant in 2009 set her apart from other consultants who provide
similar services.
"There are many consultants to ad agencies whose
ethics are poor. Getting my CMC was a way to show that I have high ethical standards and high quality of work. It proves I’m at a different level,”
says Connie. "It also helps clients accept the recommendations I’m making.”
Connie is Chief ADvisor and founder of Agency
Advisor, which consults for ad agencies, graphic design firms and advertisers.
She has consulted for over 600 clients. With the ad industry now in a slump,
Connie has focused her efforts on writing a book on best practices for ad
agency management. She expects to publish in spring 2011, and select e-chapters are already
available on her website, www.AgencyAdvisor.com.
As Membership Chair for the Arizona Chapter,
Connie actively works to build membership as well as relationships with the
local business community. "We are running an outreach workshop for local
Arizona businesses on February 2nd. We expect over 100 businesses to
attend – wish us luck!”
One final thought on the CMC from Connie: "If
you’re a CMC, you should actively promote your certification. Tout it on your
website and email blasts, and slip it into the conversation when talking to
clients. It adds credibility which helps you get business.”
