Helen Dao,
new Chapter President, and President, DAO Management Consulting, Inc., started
her two year term of office in June with the goal of setting high standards for
Board Member performance by re-engineering Board tasks and goal setting. Her
strategic focus included energizing the membership, reaching out to other
professional organizations and prospective members, developing a sustainable
and fiscally responsible organization.
A day-long Board
Planning retreat was held in July 2010 to develop action plans for the Chapter.
Because NJ members are spread over such a wide
area, the Board selected two permanent meeting sites in member-concentrated
areas: for Northern Jersey, Fairleigh Dickenson University in Madison, and for
Central Jersey, Princeton.
In addition,
IMCNJ will collaborate with the Turnaround Management Association and the
National Speakers Association to develop joint meetings and offer members more
options for program content and meeting location.
The Program
Committee, chaired by Eileen Sinett, President, CCS, added two seasoned consultants, Richard Nathan, President,
Tailored Technologies LLC, and Patrick
Lefler, Principal, The Spruance Group,
to help develop programs and venues for the coming year. The Marketing
Committee, chaired by Michele Joseph, President Klick Consultants, added a volunteer, Greg McMahon,
to assist in preparing
marketing materials.
The Membership
Chair, Don McDermott, President, McDermott Associates, completed an analysis of member
skill sets and geographic location as an aid to developing programs and meeting
sites and identifying potential volunteers. The Treasurer, Michael Keats,
President, Keats Consulting, took on the additional role of Webmaster and
integrated Chapter and National databases and streamline meeting announcements
and registrations.
