2006 International Management Consultants Day Print E-mail

June 19 2006
For Immediate Release

Washington, DC. The Institute of Management Consultants USA (IMC USA) celebrates June 19 as International Management Consultants Day (IMCD). Growth of international business and concerns over professional conduct by executives and governments has increased the demand for international standards of consulting competence and ethics. This day recognizes the rapid growth of management consulting as a profession and the significant contributions consultants make to business, government and institutions.

According to Mark Haas CMC, national Chair of IMC USA, the demand for management analysts in almost every field is growing rapidly around the world. “The emergence of global markets, advances in technology, changing workforce demographics, and the trend of government toward best business practices are driving growth in consulting jobs across the board,” says Mr. Haas. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects the field to grow faster than average, between 18 and 26 percent, through 2014.

IMCD is being celebrated by national Institutes of Management Consultants in countries such as the U.K, Germany, Austria, Italy, South Africa, India, Russia, Japan and China. “We find that having an international network of talented and committed professionals knowledgeable about businesses and governments all over the world is critical to providing the best business advice for our clients, wherever they are. The IMC worldwide network is an incredible advantage in finding high quality consultants I can trust,” says Mr. Haas. “Having an international consulting network whose members meet global standards of professional competence and ethics makes it easy to bring best business advice to clients.”

IMC USA is the premier professional association and sole certifying body for management consultants in the US. Its mission is to promote excellence and ethics in management consulting through certification, education and professional resources. Members in its 25 chapters provide advisory services to management in public, private and institutional sectors in almost every industry. IMC USA confers the designation of Certified Management Consultant (CMC®) on those who meet rigorous global standards of technical competency, client satisfaction, commitment to continued professional development, and adherence to a rigorously enforced Code of Ethics. Less than 1% of all practicing management consultants have received this designation.

IMC USA is also a charter member of the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI), the 44-nation body that sets global standards for competence and professional conduct for the management consulting profession.
