IMC USA provides resources to help you improve your sensitivity to and ability to respond effectively to ethical situations in your consulting engagements and in relationships with your colleagues. These include links to online ethics resources, ethics simulations developed by IMC USA and others, and references to business ethics readings.

Ethics Websites

Ethics Resource Center: Based in Washington, DC, the ERC is a nonprofit devoted to independent research and the advancement of high ethical standards and practices in public and private institutions. The ERC conducts rigorous research and surveys, including the National Business Ethics Survey.

Global Ethics provides a network of individuals and library of resources in applied ethics from a variety of fields, with a geographic emphasis on Asia and Europe.

The Business Ethics Blog, by Chris MacDonald, PhD, is a periodic discussion of ethical issues of the day, including those related to business and references from ethics-related books.

The Ethics & Compliance Officers Association is the professional association for responsible for their organization's ethics, compliance, and business conduct programs. It is the largest group of business ethics and compliance practitioners in the world.

The Josephson Institute of Ethics is one of the premier organizations devoted to ethics. Their mission to improve the ethical quality of society by changing personal and organizational decision making and behavior.


Ethics Information

The Federal Contractor Misconduct Database (FCMD) tabulates data on companies with histories of misconduct such as contract fraud and environmental, ethics, and labor violations. Although many companies accused of ethics violations negotiate settlements and avoid public records of wrongdoing, this database shows which companies have been found guilty, been disbarred, settled or have disposition pending. Several large consulting firms are listed in this database.


Ethics Exercises

We provide short (but not simple) ethics exercises for use as discussion exercises by chapters at their chapter professional development programs. These may also be used for self-study, but discussion with others is beneficial.

We can develop our ethical sensitivity and skills from understanding the experience, interpretation, and resolution of ethical dilemmas encountered by our professional colleagues. IMC USA encourages members to submit descriptions of ethical circumstances, and how they responded or might otherwise have responded. Use the form below to submit an ethics case (anonymously if you wish) so we may share them with others.
