Some thoughts on Company Culture

"Be selective. Keep your mind available for critical information, on which you will be required to act."
Rosemary McMahon, World Health Organization

"Organizational culture is built in countless small ways, on a daily basis. The manager's interactions with others all help establish the norms about what is valued and how things are done." David L. Bradford, Stanford University

"Experience tells you only so much about a company; its culture tells more..." Deal & Kennedy, Harvard Business School

"Culture is a pattern of basic assumptions-invented, discovered, or developed by a given group as it learns to cope with its problems of external adaptation and internal integration."
Edgar Schein, M.I.T.

"The first EDSer to see a snake kills it. At GM, the first thing you do is organize a committee on snakes. Then you bring in a consultant who knows a lot about snakes. Third thing you do is talk about it for a year." H. Ross Perot
