Proponent of Offshoring
Lothar Katz, founder and president of Dallas-based international business consultancy Leadership Crossroads, is a senior management advisor and coach. With his wealth of experience in achieving productive cooperation and driving business success on a global scale, he has helped numerous companies and other organizations improve their management effectiveness and international business results.
A former Vice President and General Manager with Texas Instruments, Mr. Katz has led business organizations across four continents, interacting with customers, outsourcing vendors, employees, and third parties in numerous countries. He has led several global business units, managing geographically distributed product development organizations and engaging with a number of offshoring partners. He also served on the board of a public corporation and has served as an advisor to several start-up companies.
Mr. Katz is a faculty member of UTD's School of Management, a Business Leadership Center instructor at SMU's Cox School of Business, and a board member of the Institute of Management Consultants' DFW Chapter. He is the author of Negotiating International Business - The Negotiator's Reference Guide to 50 Countries Around the World and a frequent speaker at local and nationwide conferences and organizational meetings.
Opponent of Offshoring
Tom Chenault began his business career with Arthur Andersen as a systems consultant. Since that time Mr. Chenault has spent 34 years in systems consulting work with companies such as: Tymshare, Inc., Lloyd Bush & Associates, The Delta Group and Brinker International. He has a BBA degree from Texas Tech University and a MS Degree from University of Houston.
After four years as a solo systems consultant, Mr. Chenault co-founded Chenault Systems with Wes Gardner in January of 1996. Since then Chenault Systems has had interesting consulting projects with companies such as ExxonMobil, Budget Rent-a-Car, Hanley-Wood, and Laidlaw, Inc. Mr. Chenault has served on several committees at the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Dallas Business Association Board of Directors.
In addition, the Dallas Business Journal featured Chenault Systems in January of 1998. Mr. Chenault has published articles on the subject of offshoring in the Dallas, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio Business Journals.
Mary Murcott, founder and president of Performance Transformations, Inc., is a business transformation consultant and call center industry analyst. Her clients include high profile Fortune 500 companies in the financial, healthcare, travel and other service industries. She has helped her clients to both offshore and bring their business back home.
Most recently, she was CIO and Senior VP Worldwide Reservations for Budget Rent a Car and Ryder Trucks.
A frequent speaker at industry conferences, Ms. Murcott recently delivered keynotes at the IQPC consortium in Monte Carlo and the Telecommunications Users Conference in New Zealand. She will deliver the opening address at the IMI 2008 in Istanbul, as well as deliver upcoming sales seminars in Shanghai. Ms. Murcott recently authored an ICMI published book entitled Driving Peak Sales Performance in Call Centers.
