Winning in a Downturn:
The Breakthrough Imperative

As you work to build your business in this new and challenging decade, here’s a program that can help you make some new breakthroughs for you and your clients.

Nearly every CEO and general manager today is expected by his stakeholders to achieve new breakthroughs in performance. Despite the intensity of this pressure and the high expectations within short time frames, a number of leaders turn in exceptional results. Those who do succeed because they have a firm handle on the fundamentals of their business:

  • Where are they today?
  • Where do they need to go?
  • How will they get there?

Knowing exactly what to do and in what sequence can be an overwhelming challenge—a challenge that Derek Gerow knows how to approach from a consultant’s point of view. As a partner in Bain & Company’s Dallas office, Derek uses four powerful principles written about in The Breakthrough Imperative, a book authored by his two Bain colleagues: Mark Gottfredson, Director of Bain’s Dallas office and Steve Schauber, Director of Bain’s Boston office. Publisher’s Weekly named the book one of the Top Five Business Book Trends to Turn Things Around.

In his presentation Derek will discuss these four principles and share case studies in which they were applied. He will also use each law to help you diagnose your own business or that of your client.

Plan now to attend the Monday, February 15 MCF meeting and begin to make your own breakthroughs.
