Before attending the evening session with Debra Valle, join
us in the afternoon to learn about
"Marketing Creativity for Consultants"
with The Next Level Marketing &
Creative team! |
 |
If you're wrestling with a current
marketing creativity problem for
your consulting practice, our afternoon
session on May 18 will be a valuable
eye opener. You'll learn how to
apply "think-out-of-the-box" techniques
used by people who have to be creative
on a daily basis, and get paid for
it. You will be a unique chance
for consultants to go behind the
scenes and enter the minds of a
top marketing and creative group
to find out:
What
is Creativity? Why do you need
it? How do you tap into it? How
can you use it to: - Re-invent
yourself - Have more fun at work
- Stay in love with what you do
- Problem-solve in new and unexpected
ways.
Our
presenters will be Don Spector
and Deborah Rodney, partners of
The Next Level Marketing &
Creative, who have spent over
25 years each being creative on
behalf of clients like Disney,
Absolut Vodka, and Public Storage.
Their stories, exercises and puzzles
are educational and fun. You'll
have a chance to do some of your
own creative problem solving on
the spot. Most important, they'll
open up your thinking and stimulate
your imagination.
Don
Spector, President, has served
as VP / Creative Director of BBDO-West
and Foote Cone Belding-LA, at
the time the largest ad agency
in the Western U.S. He co-founded
one of the pioneering firms in
interactive communications, breaking
new ground for clients such as
United Airlines, Hilton Hotels
and Absolut Vodka. He has a wall
of awards earned for work for
clients ranging from startups
to Fortune 500. Deborah Rodney,
Vice- President began her career
as an art director at Foote Cone
Belding-LA. After working at two
more ad agencies, she became a
freelance resource for almost
every major LA ad agency, including
Chiat Day, Grey Advertising and
BBDO. As Deborah Rodney Creative

in almost every category, including
fashion, financial, health care,
and home decorating. Her marketing
and creative skills helped the

May 6th Orange County Breakfast Meeting - "How to Take Your
Consulting Practice to the Next
Level" |
 |
A consulting practice can only
be taken to a certain level by a
sole-practitioner consultant, even
one with star power. A sole practitioner
can only have so much experience,
and there are just so many consulting
hours per year. And many of the
more lucrative consulting assignments
are simply out of reach for individual
consultants. In consulting, bigger
is often better.
At
our May 6 IMC Orange County breakfast
meeting, explore two possible
growth models that could take
your consulting practice to the
next level: Nick Testa, CEO of
Acuity Consulting, will share
how he built his consulting practice
from inception in mid-2001 to
a team of up to 17 people. Learn
why he took on the challenge of
having employees as well as associates,
and what steps he took to build
his organization and survive.
Jim Ayers, Principal, CGR Management
Consultants, will present the
CGR model. CGR is a collaborative
group of consultants with related
practices. It consists of seven
individual consultants who pool
their resources as needed to present
the image of a larger firm with
a wide range of services and in-depth
functional expertise.
Nick
Testa is CEO of Acuity Consulting,
specializing in business process
management, operations planning
and scheduling, supply chain management,
total quality management (TQM),
and business software selection
and implementation. Jim Ayers
is Principal of CGR Management
Consultants, specializing in supply
chain management, operations improvement,
and technology management. He
has been in consulting most of
his business life and is the author
of numerous publications.

May 7th San Diego Breakfast Meeting - "How to Identify and
Work Your Consulting Niche" with
Bill Mooney |
 |
| Bill
Mooney is known as the consultants'
consultant and the premiere consultant
coach in Southern California. In
this presentation, Bill Mooney will
show how to capitalize on one's
expertise and experience to identify
those niches in consulting in which
the consultant has the greatest
probability of becoming successful
in the shortest time and how to
research, position, promote, network,
and procure consulting engagements
in these niches.
This
work is based on a definition
of consulting as helping people
in organizations solve problems
and adding value as a result and
the fact that clients are known
to buy solutions to their problems
from consultants with whom they
have built a trusting relationship
and whom they view as uniquely
qualified. The relationship of
branding and productizing one's
offerings to niching will be emphasized
and a Best Practices Assessment
will be completed by the attendees.
