Taking Flight with Your Practice |
 |
|
Professional Development for The Institute of Management Consultants – Southern California Chapter will be providing another in the very successful “Taking Flight with Your Practice” sessions this coming fall and winter. We will be providing a limited number of openings to attend a series of workshops facilitated by one of the local members and experienced consultant. Space is limited to eight attendees per course in order to provide proper attention and assistance for each attendee.
Taking Flight with Your Practice is a two-part program the first of which deals with Developing the Engagement, while the second will cover Delivering the Engagement and Disengaging from the Client.
The entire series consists of 6-up to 2 hour meetings. Originally presented on a limited basis in the United States, it has become so popular and beneficial that it is being provided nationally and more specifically for the second time in southern California.
Initially targeted for those with 0-3 years consulting experience, it has proven popular with individuals repositioning a consulting practice and with smaller firms seeking a good training and orientation program for their consultants.
Last year we met at The Renaissance Hotel at LAX at 1:30PM on the third Tuesday of those months when an IMC Dinner Program was offered. This was just prior to the regularly scheduled IMC Southern California Dinner Meeting. We expect a similar day and time will be set for the upcoming session.
The Renaissance Hotel
9620 Airport Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90045
Phone: (310) 337 2800
Meeting dates are yet to be established; We will begin the next session January 2006 once we receive six confirmed enrollees.

Our Chapter Needs a PROGRAM CHAIR |
 |
|
Would you like to have?
- Increased visibility within the consulting and business community?
- Opportunities to increase your network with speaker and business contacts?
- A chance to develop long-term relationships with leading SoCal consultants?
The Program Committee of six members is already planning several great events for our chapter. However, we need someone to lead the committee meetings and report to the IMC Board on progress and status.
As the IMC SoCal Program Chair. you would be in a highly visible and powerful positionwhere you would:
- Facilitate the meetings and actions of the Programs Committee
- Coordinate the development of the annual program
- Introduce the speaker(s) at Chapter meetings and award a thank-you gift
- Collect, review and communicate speaker/topic evaluations
- Gain visibility and respect in the So Cal business community.
- Make new friends!
Don’t delay! Act now! Contact IMC President Dennis McCue at 949-640-2220 or mccue@dynamicfirm.com for more information.

In August, the Board of Directors and Committee Chairs for all the various segments of the Chapter were introduced. Please know that each of these committees needs help--your help.
We grow with your involvement and YOU WILL TOO! Getting involved with a committee or program group will help you expand you skills and abilities. Perhaps there is an area where you want to learn without risking credibility with a client or where you used to be experienced, but have gotten rusty. The chapter is a great place to experiment with your own skill set, learn from others who are good at particular skills, gain professional associates, get known for who you are and what you do and have fun (and challenges) the whole time. Please come join in!
If you have a desire to be involved in any aspect of the chapter activities or support functions, please call Dennis McCue, there is a place for you here. We want to get to know you!

IMC's website is growing! Did you know you can input your bio and other data on our site? A Feature of the site is a Members' Link page where we post member logos and links to the member's site. This is a significant advantage since the IMC Southern California site is accessed often by both referring consultants and those outside of our professional organization when looking for specific background and capabilities of qualified individuals. As many of you know this type of linking can improve your positioning on search engines and better make you visible on the Internet.
Don’t wait, get your information in the data base right away!
Contact us at news@imcsocal.org to have your information added to this members-only page.
Another feature of the site is a carpooling info sheet for those people wishing to set up a carpool to the monthly IMC events (breakfast and chapter meetings). Members can simply provide information on their preferences and this information will be added to the site, allowing other members to match up their needs.
