PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS
Evening: Transform Your Solo Practice with a Membership-Based Website with Cliff Atkinson
Transform Your Solo Practice with a Membership- Based Website
Membership-based websites have been around for years, but haven't quite gained traction. It may be that their time has finally come, as the latest technology makes it dramatically easier for you to transform your solo practice into the self-generating revenue center it was always meant to be. Using website technology available to any consultant, Cliff Atkinson is transforming his own successful solo practice from constant travel to more productive time working from his home office. During this talk, you'll learn how to:
- "Productize" your core ideas so they are easier to market.
- Transform every public talk from a one-time event into an ongoing relationship
- Use online meeting technology to conduct consulting sessions
- Turn every article and talk into a product
- Help your clients to help you create new material
- Seamlessly integrate your website into your workshops
Afternoon Session: Web 2.0: What the Latest Internet Development Means for You and Your Clients presented by Jennifer Beever, CMC, New Incite, Marketing Analysis and Design
Web 2.0: What the Latest Internet Development Means for You and Your Clients
What is Web 2.0? Why does it matter for consultants and their clients?
This interactive workshop will provide you with a current definition of the latest development on the Internet – Web 2.0. With real examples, you will learn how to maximize your use of the Internet and how to advise your clients about Web 2.0. If wikis, mashups, rich Internet applications, blogs, social networks and folksonomies sound like Greek to you, come to this workshop to learn what they are and why they matter. Attendees at this workshop will also receive the booklet, “How to Increase Your Visibility on the Internet.”

President's Message |

Happy New Year!
Please double-check your resolutions – make sure your plans for supporting IMC are well-defined, and near the top of the list! Include coming to more meetings – and bringing any consultants you find who may be ignorant about the organization, or have forgotten. We’ve been having really terrific programs, but too many people who could benefit have missed them. The lineup for the next several months promises to be just as good.
We kicked off the holiday season with Jennifer Beever’s warm and friendly members’ party at Cozymel’s. The buffet was delicious, the ambiance just right. We got to meet some members’ spouses (Great people. They ought to be consultants.) – and some members who haven’t been to a meeting within memory – or ever.
I hope your holidays went as well as that auspicious start!
Margaret Chock CMC, President

LAX IMC BREAKFAST MEETING - January 5, 2007
"Pain-Into-Gain Marketing" with Henry DeVries
Did you know that psychologists and sociologists have repeatedly found that people are more motivated to avoid pain than to seek pleasure? According to author and marketing expert Henry DeVries, the secret to maximizing your attraction factor with potential clients is to articulate the worries, frustrations and concerns that you solve. As the old adage states, “People don’t care what you know, until they know that you care.” Truly identifying your market’s predicament tells them that you understand and empathize with them. Come learn the secrets of easily crafting marketing tools that maximize your attraction factor from Henry DeVries, founder of the New Client Marketing Institute and author of the soon to be published book Pain-Into-Gain Marketing.

Special Session: Consultants Meet Consultants and Clients (CmCC)
Facilitated by Jerry Savin, FIMC
IMC SoCal Monthly Meeting - February 20, 2007
By February 1st, download the form, fill it out and email back to Jerry Savin.
Do you ever wish that you had a systematic collaborative approach to networking, with which you could develop a network of relationships rather than a collection of business cards and vague acquaintances?
Would you like to meet the consultants that work in your industry and/or can refer you to their clients?
IMC presents Consultants meet Consultants and Clients, a special program designed to help you make the contacts you need to form synergies, alliances and get new clients! The CmCC format has proven so successful at international consulting meetings that Jerry Savin, FIMC, CMC, wanted to bring it to IMC SoCal.
Our program begins at 4:30 PM with an introduction and explanation of the CmCC process. During the evening, you will be paired with as many as four consultants with whom you have synergies in industries served, services provided and/or clients. Our facilitator, Jerry Savin, will match you with other consultants based on the profile that you submit to him prior to the event, using the PDF form below. In each 30 minute meeting with another consultant, you will have an opportunity to share information and discuss how you might work together, refer clients or other opportunities to each other. The program includes up to four pairings with custom-matched consultants, general networking time, dinner and a debriefing session.
To participate in this special event, you will need to register well in advance and fill out a form describing your practice, clients, services and project examples. Submit the form to Jerry Savin. Jerry will pair you with four “matches” – consultants with whom you have synergies and can collaborate with.
By February 1st, download the form, fill it out and email back to Jerry Savin.

NETWORKING WITH OTHER CONSULTANTS
During our year long association with IMC, after joining membership, from the National Bureau of Management Consultants, my wife and partner, Ann Frey, made great use of working with other IMC members. We exchanged ideas, referred other members to our clients when we could not fill their needs and in general, networked to the fullest extent.
Being small business coaches and consultants to management, we have had the opportunity to assist many types of industries over the past 25 years. I serve as a business coach and my wife, Ann, helps small and medium size companies with office re- organization.
As we are about to retire, we hope we have made our mark helping entrepreneurs and small business owners become successful in their business start ups. If thank you letters and kind words are any indication of achieving success, then we have reached our goals. The secret of our success is working with other consultants and emphasizing networking every opportunity that presents itself. Our profuse gratitude is extended to the many IMC members whom we have had the pleasure of working along side of.
