"Open Space Technology for Consultants: How to be an Invisible Facilitator" with Jennifer Beever

Open Space Technology is a way to enable all kinds of people, in any kind of organization, to create inspired meetings and events. Over the last 15 years, open space has become an intentional leadership practice. It has created inspired organizations where ordinary people work together to create extraordinary results with regularity. Created in the mid-1980's by organizational consultant Harrison Owen, Open Space Technology has been successfully used by corporations, governments and non-profits, including AT&T, US West, Boeing, Middle East Peace organizers, communities, churches, and schools.

At our interactive workshop on June 15, you will learn how Open Space Technology can work for your consulting practice, while exploring critical consulting issues and interacting with members and guests of IMC SoCal. The Open Space Technology session was the highlight of IMC's 2003 Confab Conference, and now IMC SoCal is bringing it to you.

Jennifer Beever, CMC, is Chair and Past President of IMC SoCal. She founded New Incite Marketing Analysis & Design in 1997 after 14 years in sales and marketing in the software industry. She and her team of marketing professionals work with businesses to analyze their current marketing situation, plan new strategic marketing programs, and then execute these programs. She is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and a Certified Virtual CEO consultant.

2nd Annual Summer Kick-off Networking Dinner:Tribute to Lifetime Achievement Award Winner, Marsha Lewin

Meet and greet your fellow consultants at our 2nd Annual Summer Kick-off Networking Dinner.

2nd Annual Summer Kick-off Networking Dinner Over the past few years, we have been focusing on more and more ways to help build the community of management consultants. Obviously, if we are to joint venture projects, refer business opportunities to one another and to even understand how we can supplement the value that someone can bring to our existing clients, we must know each other personally. So come to meet and greet your fellow consultants at our Summer Kick-off Networking Dinner. This is time we set aside to really get to know one another in a personal way as well as professionally. Then, you can use the summer months as opportunities to schedule some way to deepen the relationships and when we come back to our monthly events the relationships will be better than they are today. So, please come and join us and get in on the fun!

We will pay special tribute to Marsha Lewin, recipient of the 2004 IMC USA Lifetime Achievement Award. This award recognizes an individual in management consulting who has made an exceptional contribution to the management consulting profession for an enduring time. This highly selective award was presented to Marsha by the IMC USA National Board of Directors at IMC's Annual Conference. If you are one of the many consultants who have benefited from Marsha's help and wisdom over the years, come to our June meeting to acknowledge her at this very special time.

"Marketing Makeover for Consultants-How to Get Consulting Clients to Come to You" with Adam Urbanski.

Our June 3rd Orange County IMC Breakfast meeting with Adam Urbanski will answer two of nagging questions for many consultants: "Why doesn't my current marketing strategy work?" and "How do I get more and better quality clients to build a more profitable practice?"

In this presentation you will learn:

    • New marketing mindset. Get what marketing is and what it isn't, and fall in love with promoting your services.
    • The seven-step marketing and sales model. How to use your expertise to build a marketing system that will consistently and automatically attract more clients.
    • Three key pieces of information that prospects are looking for -- and 90% of independent professionals completely overlook. How to communicate about what you do in such a way that people understand it and respond to your message.
    • How to sell value, not a process. Learn why most service providers fail to attract the highly profitable coaching assignments by charging for their time and process, instead of asking to be paid for the value they deliver.
    • "The Six Figure Practice Marketing Model." How to use elements of "funnel" and "follow-up" marketing to turn your practice into a client magnet.

Adam Urbanski is president of theMarketingMentors.com, which works one-on-one with solopreneurs (Independent Service Professionals) to turn their knowledge and expertise into profitable revenue centers. As a marketing consultant and strategist, he also gives frequent talks on sales and marketing topics to professional groups, teaches tele- classes, and runs an in-depth marketing boot camp. His three-day Marketing Seminar for Service Professionals will run this May 21-23.
