Dear IMC,
You won't want to miss our May 15th Meeting!
The evening session, "Managing the Gap: A cognitive approach to taking our practices from good to great" Presented by Bill Wagner
AND
The afternoon session, "Matching People to Jobs Through Technology"
with Workshop Coordinator, Don McNamara
EVENING SESSION
Managing the Gap: A cognitive approach to taking our practices from good to great
Our presenter this evening is Bill Wagner, CSP and IMC member. Bill is the author of The Entrepreneur Next Door, a book about successful entrepreneurship that has entrepreneurs and wantapraneurs alike talking about WHO they are in relationship to WHO they need to be to get the job done.
Are you ready for some fun, some introspection, a bit of sarcasm and a few well deserved laughs? Then our key note presenter promises to provide us with an aha and at least one epiphany! The Prevue presentation will set the stage for some awesome application and Bill will show how to use the same tools strategically. From selection to succession.
In Bill’s research of some 1,509 members of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization he discovered what makes them tick and what ticks them off.
Take that thought a few steps forward and you will understand why most of us have a complete and total inability to work for others.
- Why our drive is great when necessary to apply additional pressure on ourselves or others but how it manifests itself negatively while in traffic.
- Find out the difference between our dating personality and who we become two years into a relationship.
- Discover who we are at work and who we need to become at home and more importantly… which is our more natural side.
Today's workshop on assessments is a great precursor as Bill's company, Accord Management Systems, is a behavioral consultancy specializing in getting the people side of business right. Accord uses tools similar to Prevue as well as surveys and other assessments which assist in promotion, succession planning and employee engagement.
Tonight we will develop a greater, cognitive sense of the behavioral GAP that exists between who we are and who we need to be.
About Bill Wagner

Bill Wagner is one of those unique individuals who can say he is a speaker, author and consultant. For nearly twenty years, Bill has been at the forefront of entrepreneurial practice and research. He has devoted nearly all of his adult life to understanding entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship – first as a student, then as an entrepreneur and now as a teacher.
His firm, Accord Management Systems, Inc., is a behavioral consultancy specializing in the metrics necessary to measure the people side of business. Established in 1995 in Westlake Village, California, Accord provides the necessary tools to measure the people side of business, from selection to succession. The company offers a series of interrelated surveys and services that are designed to improve employee performance and financial success.
Bill’s speaking engagements place him in front of over fifty executive groups each year. His clients are primarily those whose leaders are members of organizations such as YPO, WPO, EO and TEC. These leaders have several things in common … their thirst and curiosity for knowledge, their regard for their employees and their personalities. That’s right, their personalities.
Bill’s recent book, “The Entrepreneur Next Door”, contains the research conducted on 1,509 young entrepreneurs. In this benchmark, study Bill measured their personalities, emotional intelligence and brain dominance. They also completed a 160- question survey where he was better able to understand what makes them tick and what ticks them off. Bills’ research allows him to analyze the gap and establish actions required to get the job done.
Bill is heavily involved in the franchise community, helping both franchisors and franchisees alike to “get the right people on the bus”. He has been considered by some to be an “insultant” rather than a mere consultant. He rocks the boat and tells the truth, helping clients become their own organizational therapist. Bill focuses on questioning the answers rather than answering the questions. His presentation promises a minimum of one epiphany and one “ah- ha!”
THE AFTERNOON SESSION
"Matching People to Jobs Through Technology"

President's Message |

Attend The IMC SoCal Planning Meeting!
On May 15 we'll hold the first (perhaps only) planning meeting for the Chapter's '07-08 year. All current and future officers, Board members, and committee chairs should be there - as should all members who are interested in what we should be doing to serve you. We'll meet at 2PM at the Ayres Hotel before the May workshop and dinner meeting.
May 15 will also include our (very brief) Annual Meeting, with election results and a quick review of the past year. (Yes, we will hold an election between now and then. Watch your mailboxes).
The last dinner meeting was very interesting, very interactive. Nick Juarez, CMC and his team told us about their experiences in international consulting. Then Carlos Conejo talked about the growing cultural diversity in American business. Both speakers provided valuable advice for dealing with clients with different backgrounds, both here and in other countries. From Nick, we received numerous tips on how to become a World Famous International Consultant (WFIC), while Carlos taught us how to be more effective if we stay at home. Both led lively discussions with the audience.
Best wishes,
Margaret Chock CMC, President |
