"Best conference ever."

What else did our attendees say?

"Great content.”

"Great to be back. Wonderful to reconnect!”

"Amazing speakers….I have pages of notes.”

"Haven’t been to this conference in 10 years – this was refreshing.”

"It’s so important to have our chapter members come to GROW!”

Homeward bound at 30,000 feet, I’m reading the conference evaluation sheets and reflecting on what happened in Las Vegas this past week. Building on over 35 years of successful IMC conferences, the 2013 GROW! conference gave us the opportunity to learn from top-notch experts, make new friends, reconnect with colleagues, and to remember and celebrate our members’ accomplishments.

Our pre-conference event whet our appetite.

Our keynote speaker gave us a sneak preview - and IMC members described how their membership translated into value in their professional lives.

Our speakers delighted us with great insights - and several speakers offered free follow-up consultations to the attendees.”

"Reciprocity of listening builds influence.” Andrea Howe.

"When you are angry – you’ll make the best speech that you’ll regret the most.”

"You can’t be prepared enough.” Somers White.

Our award winners inspired us.

Fellows:James O. Rogers, CMC© (Georgia chapter); Clint Burdett, CMC©(San Diego chapter); Lee Czarapata, CMC© (At-Large)

Chair Award: Manola Robison, CMC© (Georgia chapter), for her vision and innovation in creating the University Initiatives.

Distinguished Service Award: Norm Eckstein, CMC©, FIMC (Chicagoland chapter); Kevin Berchelmann, CMC© (Houston chapter)

CPC Award: Ray Suarez, CMC© (National Capital Region – Chapter President)

Chapter Award: National Capital Region

And our Michael & Amy entertained us (as did several of our national board members – find them on You Tube…).

Immediately following the conference, our chapter leaders gathered to share best practices and learn new ways to serve their chapter members.

And, of course, our National Board of Directors held their quarterly board meeting just prior to the conference.

So…when and where is our next face-to-face conference for members? Spring, 2015.

WHY spring 2015? Because a fall schedule competes with our Fall Membership Drive and Membership Renewal efforts – and it’s too late to plan an event for spring, 2014. We do expect to have a leadership event - so stay tuned for more information.

If you attended GROW!, I hope that you will take a moment to email your reflections and suggestions to me (

If you did not attend GROW! – make a resolution to attend our next conference – you won’t regret it!
