Don't miss our July 8, 2010 Orange County Breakfast!
HR Issues that Every Consultant
Needs to Know About
With Joe Herold, Principal, The Herold Consulting Group
Thursday, July 8, Mimi's Café, Irvine, 7:00 to 9:00 a.m.
Regardless of your consulting specialty, human relations (HR) issues will affect your practice. They will certainly affect your clients and can also affect your personal practice unless you take specific steps to protect yourself, since employment law is a legal minefield, with special complexity in California.

Join us at our next IMC OC breakfast meeting on Thursday, July 8, as Joe Herold, HR consultant and chair of IMC SoCal's breakfast meetings near LAX, briefs us on HR issues on which every consultant needs to be knowledgeable when working with clients. Topics will include:

  • Compliance areas non-HR consultants can "eyeball” for their client
  • Today's hot areas in employment law:
    - FLSA classification of employees
    - Independent contractors
    - Overtime rules
    - CA pay stubs and meal breaks
    - Homeland security and right-to-work verification
    - Background checks / FCRA
  • Workforce diversity issues
  • Employee assessment and selection
  • Outsourcing, firing and downsizing
  • And a lot more...

Look forward to an informative and interactive session on July 8, which will be relevant to you regardless of your consulting specialty. This will also be opportunity for you to network with consultants and other self-employed professionals in the Greater Orange County area, and to learn about IMC's monthly breakfast meetings near LAX.
