June industry: Food and Agriculture
Title: Impact of Urban Agriculture on Economic Development
Urban agriculture is one of many solutions to improve economic development. This system considers environmental, social, and economic factors that create the issues we are faced with today. By using urban agriculture, we attack several things at once. First, and most obvious, it paves another road for those who have been displaced by automation, giving them a chance to work a job that not only requires skill and knowledge that can be acquired with on the job training as well as in schools, but also will always be necessary. Second, it provides educational opportunities to children living in urban areas. Third, it costs very little to start. And finally, it is a renewable resource, and won’t damage any natural resources.
