Working Session:  "Powering up"
Your Referral Network With Case Studies

Most successful consultants report that referrals are the source of the majority of their client work. Perhaps more than any other marketing activity, building an effective referral network is critical to building a successful consulting business.

The January meeting was a real-time, structured working session to help participants more effectively intorduce their businessed to referral partners. The session was very well received, and participants requested another session similarly designed.

Here's how the June meeting will work:

  1. Participants will receive a template for preparing a one-page case study. The case study will allow you to help your referral partners understand your service/product in a more specific way - one that you want to be "top of mind".
  2. After a brief introduction, participants will be put in triads. Each member of the triad will present the other members with a copy of his or her case study, and talk and answer questions about the case and his or her business. Triad partners will ask questions and take a few notes, thinking actively about referrals/introductions they might make.

The results?

  • You'll have a completed case study to use for introducing & marketing your business
  • You'll practice teaching colleagues how and to whom to present your business
  • You'll have created at least 2 potential referral partners
