Join us on April 24 for an on-site look of the opportunities and challenges of R&D outsourcing, as our hosts from DeviceLabshare their successes and problems in medical device development. This will be our opportunity to provide consulting advice and to gain insights into their industry.

DeviceLab, Inc. is a contract design and product development firm, which takes new medical devices from concept to market. They are a full-service R&D Company for mechanical engineering, electronics, software, industrial design, prototyping, manufacturing, FDA regulatory consulting, and product testing. Their expertise includes user interfaces, medical devices, hospital equipment, lab instrument development, and related industrial design. Based just off Jamboree Road at 3002 Dow Avenue, Suite 124, Tustin, CA 92780, they serve Southern California and medical device firms nationwide.



  • 5:00-5:30 p.m.: Light dinner and refreshments
  • 5:15-6:00 p.m. : Presentation on outsourcing product design and R&D. Why do it? Advantages and disadvantages for clients. What DeviceLab has to offer and to whom.
  • 6:00-6:15 p.m. Strategy discussion with consultants. Marketing, sales and pricing strategies for DeviceLab. Strategic selection of clients, projects and geographical areas

Discussion Leaders:

Dac Vu, President

Dac Vu has over 27 years of experience in engineering product development. He is the founder of DeviceLab, which is involved in medical product design, disposable device engineering, embedded software systems, table-top diagnostic systems, and related areas. He holds a BSME from UCSB and an MBA from UCLA.

Lloyd Roberts, Director of Business Development

Lloyd Roberts has over 35 years of experience in electronic and medical product development. He works closely with the DeviceLab's executive leadership to build, coordinate and execute sales and marketing strategies. He has also held positions at HM Technical Sales, GM Nameplate and Dyna-Graphics.

IMC OC is the Orange County Chapter of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC USA), the national accrediting organization for management consultants. In addition to providing a wide range of benefits to management consultants, IMC awards the prestigious CMC (Certified Management Consultant) certification mark.
