Independent consultants and small consulting firms have long used collaboration as an effective alternative to hiring in order to staff client projects. Utilizing the skills and talents of an outside resource can add depth and breadth to your firm’s service offerings, as well as providing added value for your client. Using additional resources and skill sets can also dramatically improve your revenues.

But not all such "marriages” are successful. Choosing the wrong partner can be damaging to both your project and your firm’s professional reputation. Allying with a firm whose goals are not in line with yours can result in a very rocky relationship, and a waste of your valuable time.

Thomas K. Casey, CMC, CCP

Tom Casey is the founder and President of Business Consulting Services LLC (BCS). He has over thirty years in the consulting industry, with extensive experience in the improvement of business performance and operations, as well as the planning and implementation of information technology strategies. Prior to establishing Business Consulting Services in 1991, Tom served with several large and medium sized firms as consultant, manager and partner. His engagements span a broad range of industries, governments and non-profit organizations.

Tom has successfully formed and nurtured strategic partnerships and alliances with trusted consulting colleagues since the inception of BCS. These serve as an integral part of his business model. In addition to his strategic partnerships, he has access to over 100 complementary consulting professionals along the east coast with whom he can exchange leads or referrals as needed.

Tom is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC), and serves on the Board of the Institute of Management Consultants Philadelphia Chapter as Certification Chair. In addition to his other credentials, he holds an MBA in Finance from Widener University School of Business, and a BS in Management-Marketing from Saint Joseph’s University.
