Building a Big Dollar Small Firm
in a Big Firm World

IMC NCR is largely comprised of management consultants working in private practices and small firms.  However, our practices and firms exist within a broader universe of providers of professional, consulting and advisory services.  The more we understand our operating environment, the better we perform as business owners and entrepreneurs who must design and develop our service offerings, target markets, customers, business partnerships, sales and marketing strategies, professional development plans, training initiatives, etc.
On Thursday, March 19, Jenny Rae LeRoux, Managing Director of Management Consulted, will provide us with her analysis of the broader management consulting industry organized by industry segment: The Top 3, Big 4, and Tier 2 Firms.  Her remarks will address how these firms compare across key strategic criteria such as brand, services, target customers, culture and training.

Since our members and guests represent a sometimes under-represented fourth industry segment - independent solo and small firms of 20 persons or fewer – Ms. LeRoux will share her perspective as an industry insider and analyst on the strategies and tactics small firms may adopt to compete and grow in a big firm world.

Independent solo and small firm consultants endeavoring to sustain and build profitable businesses will benefit from this discussion by gaining understanding and insight into:

  • The industry and market conditions in which we operate.
  • The structure and operations of large branded firms
  • What we as independent consultants can do to position, brand, market, hire, train, and develop our firms to compete effectively.

To meet our rising venue and dinner costs, please note that registration for our chapter dinner meetings has
increased by $5 for members.  The new pricing structure is:

 Students - $40
 Members - $50 early bird, $60 regular
 Non-members - $70 early bird, $80 regular

Register before midnight Sunday the week of the event to qualify for the early bird $10 discount.
